Finding cars in Chernarus

Finding cars in vanilla DayZ on Chernarus requires checking specific, designated spawn points, which are best located using the iZurvive map app/website.

On official servers, cars often spawn damaged or without parts (battery, spark plug, radiator). 

Here are the best areas and tips for finding cars:

High-Potential Areas for Car Spawns

Northern & Western Edge: Running the map edges (north to west) is a common strategy to find cars that have either just spawned or have been stashed by other players.

Inland & Small Towns: Cars are frequently found in remote, smaller, or inland towns rather than just high-traffic coastal cities.

Grozovoy Pass: A known, often reliable spot for finding cars.

Zelenogorsk & NWAF: The area around Zelenogorsk and near the North West Airfield (NWAF) is good for finding parked or stashed vehicles.

Cernaya Polana: A junkyard on the east side of this town is a known spot. 

Tips for Finding Cars

    Use iZurvive: Filter for “Vehicles” to see all potential spawn points. Note that these are potential locations, not guaranteed spots.

    Check Stashes: Many cars are taken and hidden by players. Search in thick forest, around big cliff faces, or in barn structures.

    Carry Parts: Always carry a car battery, spark plug, and radiator with you. Finding a car without parts is common, so having them allows you to immediately fix and steal it.

    Check Post-Wipe: The best time to find vehicles is shortly after a server wipe, before most are hoarded in bases.

    Inspect Houses/Garages: Check behind houses, in carports, and in industrial garages.
